Would you but a set of used head from eaither a forum member or ebay or any other source. I have an opportuniy to have some heads installed at almost no charge and have seen a ton of good used deals around town from all the f body guys. Is this a bad idea... especially if they are very low milage.

I would be skeptical about heads purchased from an individual on Ebay.
A forum member or a company selling on Ebay would probably be ok. Why are you changing heads? Are they warped or cracked? If there is nothing wrong with yours, why not not just have them remachined? Just curious and good luck.

Probably not. It's not that someone might try to intentionally misrepresent what you're buying - it's the possibility there could be hair-line cracks or other defects in them not fitting properly and you would essentially have no warranty or little to fall back on to recover what you spent if there are any problems.

For something like heads - I think I'd go with new ones from a reputable source.

Just my 2 cents.
