Yeah it happens all over. But I've noticed something at least around here.
Now this isn't always true but I've found it to be a good barometer.
The folks that wave mores times than not, their vettes look great! Clean
and shiney! The ones that don't, their vettes usually look a little dull, need
washing and most likely waxing. These folks probably like their vettes but
aren't afflicted with the infatuation we on this forum seem to share. And
if thats the case, then its an ailment I can certainly live with!!

If they wave back if not don't let it bother you. The next one that comes along will probably wave at you before you have a chance to. That makes it all better.
I have to admit that I get a little ticked when I make an attempt to wave and get nothing back - but, some people are so immersed in their cell phone calls, changing radio stations, putting another CD in the player, drinking their Mocha latte, whatever....that they aren't aware of the goof (me! ) waving at them.
Also - with so many Vettes on the road today, not all of the Vettes are being driven by enthusiasts, a lot are being driven by drivers. It sounds like the one you encountered was a "driver".
Just shrug your shoulders and say - "Oh well, his/her loss!"
84zz4vette....
Sounds like you need to spend som time with Dr. Phil or the Ophra Show.
It's just a wave

Probably right.
I'm a stickler about clean......in the past my wife has asked "can I take the vette" and my answer has been "nope....it's dirty"....
To this day she still doesn't get why I won't let our vette(s) go out "unclean".....
Maybe the guys wife has been nagging him all day. Maybe he just got fired, maybe he just found out he had some sort of terminal disease. My point is that you don't know what kind of day someone had. Everyonce in awhile I don't wave if I'm in a cranky mood, or driving in excess of 100 and need to keep my hands on the wheel.
That was no Corvette guy. Just a guy who happened to be driving a Corvette.
I was going to say the same thing. Maybe he didn't even know what kind of car he was driving. I remember being cutoff once while I was in the fast lane by a sedan. My wife wondered why the driver would cut off a vette like that. I reminded her that some drivers wouldn't know a vette when they saw one. We are Corvette enthusiasts. Some drivers just happen to drive Corvettes.
That’s exactly what I’m talking about, and I just don’t get it. It’s one thing not to spend your life on the Corvette Forum like some of us do….…..or to just not be aware of “the wave”…..but it’s entirely another thing not to even acknowledge a person right next to you who has the same taste in cars (down to the generation and color) as you do. It’s not even a car thing at that point, it’s a human thing……
"It’s not even a car thing at that point, it’s a human thing……"
However, don't feel too bad and just keep doing your thing. Just the other day I was at a stop light next to a convertible C5 and what do you know, the guy doesn't even acknowledge me in my C/E C5. As a matter of fact just this past Friday I see this black C5 creeping up on my passangers side mirror, he jumps over to the left (going on a one way) and as he pulls up next to me, I face him getting ready for the C5 salute and what does he do! the guy plunges down on the accelerator and leaves me there waving at the air. Now that was unbelievably funny I thought. My point is: don't let the non-wavers get the best of you. Keep the wave going. You lose some, win some.
You must live on the ugly part of the DC Metro Area I live in No. Va and wave and get waved at all the time. I even had a lady in a blue C-5 Vert stop traffic (was very congested) and let me turn in front of her.. If shes reading this
BTW I drove to Dayton and back last week and got waves from 2 Mag reds and 2 Yellow C-5's in Md and OH, they were the only ones I saw. That was 100% participation!: cool:
I always wave, even when I'm driving the beater car. I even find myself waving when I'm in the significant others' Volvo.
