You non-waving *#@$#*!!!
I'm cruising down the highway this morning when I spot a Torch Red convertible coming on from an on-ramp. I'm just cruising along at 70 (slow on the open road here in SoCal), so I figure he'll catch me and we'll exchange a smile and a wave as he goes by......
Nope.....doesn't even acknowledge me. Just keeps looking forward.
Some people need to get in the game damnit!!! And oh yeah....note to the non-wave guy.....GET RID OF THE RICER STICKER AND WASH YOUR CAR!!!
I pulled next to a pewter (same color as mine) at a stop light yesterday. Dude sat there for a couple of minutes and never even looked over. Some people don't know or don't care
I always wave to Vettes, even when I drive the Acura... It probably makes the Vette driver wonder why on Earth a guy in an sedan is waving at him/her...
When I bought my first Corvette, a used 98 C-5 Coupe, the salesman, also a Corvette owner, explained to me that Corvettes were special and that Corvette owners always waved to each other to acknowledge that they are driving the finest, high performance sports car ever built in America.
I have often wondered if all Corvette sales people take the time to tell new owners about the wave as mine did. Somehow, I don't think so.

That’s exactly what I’m talking about, and I just don’t get it. It’s one thing not to spend your life on the Corvette Forum like some of us do….…..or to just not be aware of “the wave”…..but it’s entirely another thing not to even acknowledge a person right next to you who has the same taste in cars (down to the generation and color) as you do. It’s not even a car thing at that point, it’s a human thing……
Believe it or not, there are times when people are concentrating on other things! I have caught myself once or twice not seeing another Vette until he has passed. I wave anyway but I'm sure they didn't see me.
Now as for a Vette right next to me at a stoplight......that's just plan rude not to

I have to admit that I get a little ticked when I make an attempt to wave and get nothing back - but, some people are so immersed in their cell phone calls, changing radio stations, putting another CD in the player, drinking their Mocha latte, whatever....that they aren't aware of the goof (me! ) waving at them.
Also - with so many Vettes on the road today, not all of the Vettes are being driven by enthusiasts, a lot are being driven by drivers. It sounds like the one you encountered was a "driver".
Just shrug your shoulders and say - "Oh well, his/her loss!"
Compared to some areas, my area does not have a large population of Corvettes on the road. I went to FLA two weeks ago and saw a C5 about every minute. I'll go days or longer with out even seing a single Corvette in my area until I pull up into my driveway after work. I missed waving to a Black C5 about a month ago. I didn't see the Vette, but I heard it, so I looked into my driver's side mirror and saw it. So I threw my arm out the window and waved (the oncomming traffic waved back at me). Oh well, sometimes you miss them and sometimes they miss you. Just keep waving.

The first Corvette I encountered after I bought mine, the couple waved at me. I didn't know about the wave, but I waved back anyway and have been waving at every Vette I see. Got a wave from a C2 last weekend, a nice '66 Stingray. Ain't this cool

EXACTLY!!!!
It doesn't take a genius to figure out "hey.....maybe I should wave too".....
You must live on the ugly part of the DC Metro Area I live in No. Va and wave and get waved at all the time. I even had a lady in a blue C-5 Vert stop traffic (was very congested) and let me turn in front of her.. If shes reading this
BTW I drove to Dayton and back last week and got waves from 2 Mag reds and 2 Yellow C-5's in Md and OH, they were the only ones I saw. That was 100% participation!: cool:
