Default front plate

for those who have surrendered to the law and installed the front license plate, how exactly did you do it? did you use the front cover screws or larger screws, drill/no drill, frame/bare ***, etc. is it true that drilling holes can deploy or damage the air bag(s)? all advise and direction appreciated!

I used the normal screws (that should be with the car somewhere, mine were in a plastic baggie) and a Kewl body color surround.

If you don't find the screws, they are pretty standard plate screws, I got more at Auto Zone.

I am not quote sure I understand your question.
You do not have to drill any holes. You take the cover
off and use normal plate screws (1/4 20?) in the holes
provided. Factory or aftermarket surrounds make it look
a little better.

Just say "No" to the front plate on your C5

6 years without running a front plate on various cars/trucks and counting...

No you don't have to worry about the airbags. That's just someone trying to scare you. I have the front plate on for I don't want to give them any excuse to pull me over.
