i cant believe i just saw that!! i care for my car just as much as the next guy, but that?? a little over doing it
ever thought about waiting till the nozzle stops dripping? then slowly remove it, while tipping it up?? ive been doing this forever and never EVER have had any gas drip on the car!!
Have never touched the paint with the nozzle or dripped a drop of gas on the paint. OK... so I'm picky!

Got mine for $9 and it works great. And I need it.
Stupid GM black paint scratches if you look at it funny. Why is that?? I have never had a car that scratches as easliy as this Vette - and from what I have read here, everyone has this problem.
What - a $50,000 car get crap paint, but my $15,000 Ricer gets excellent metallic scratch resistant with a deep clear coat paint???
Maybe I wrong but I think the thing is to keep the cap off the paint ,not the gas .If I remember right most gas doors have a slot to put the cap in while filling up and the vette doesnot so it has to hand down on the side of the car,.But I could be wrong.

There is a notch on the door to hold the strap that connects the cap to the filler neck

You are correct.... You are wrong. There's a slot on the filler door that the cap sits on. That's another reason to have one of these things. The slot does a poor job of holding the gas cap. Once in a blue moon, I don't get the cap on the slot properly and the cap falls against the side of the car. If I didn't have my little black bib, I'd probably have chips in my, ever so chipable, mag red paint.
amazing no one mentioned the 10hp gain you get from it
ive got the bib, a performance hood seal, and a tornado and i broke 12.50s running on 87 octane these three "mods" alone or the best of the best
All the while not dripping one once of that 87 octane on your paint!
I always just take a few paper towels and place them under the nozzle when I take it out , after letting it drip its last drip practically. It seems like those bibs are just another thing with a vette logo on it for us to buy. IHO
