Have 3 large dogs and have 2 that like to ride in the car. I cover the leather and the rear area with a large towel. My Avatar is my lil puppy named Ben, short for Big Enormous Nuisance. He’s a Bolognese Mastiff, bout 145 lbs. he rides in the passenger seat occasionally and especially likes the top off. He likes to look at other cars as we go by. Also have a solid black Belgian Shepard about 80 lbs that rides sitting in the seat with her chin resting between the door and the rear view. When I stop she automatically hops in the back (coupe with black carpet) and virtually disappears. It’s really wild when a passer by stops to peer into the window and is met with a growl and a lot of large white teeth.
Anybody else have a buddy that rides with them?

I like the windows open whether they are with me or not. I guess I spent too many hours in Air Force planes with only a couple of portholes. Neither shed or drool so that's cool. They just like to ride occasionally. Sorry guys love my dogs too.
We had a beagle mix for many years who loved to ride in the vette with the top down. She liked to ride in the other cars too - but not as much as the vette. When we found out she had cancer and only a couple of weeks left, we took her out in the vette every chance we got. When she was in that car, you wouldn't even know she was sick. We lost her last April and are glad her last days were doing something she loved (riding in the vette with the top down)

My 70lb Pit Bull/Black Lab mix and my 85lb Aust Shephard/Border Collie mix are a little challenged to ride in the car. So to show their affection for the Vette, they come over to the car and put wet nose prints and often lick the car, generally after I've spent about 7 or 8 hours detailing the black paint.
As my wife says - they love the smell of the Meguiar's products.
Mine love riding with me too. I've got a small black cocker spaniel and a larger field spaniel. The black one likes to stand on the console cover where she can see out (which makes starting, turning or stopping an exercise in "catch the dog")!
Our dog loves to ride in the Vette also. She's a 1/2 golden retriever and 1/2 Catahola ( leopard hound) she's a large dog 10 months old and weighs about 75 pounds. She's always been very calm and quiet in the car. The strangest thing I've seen though was @ Eckler's last month. A couple pulled in with a C5 vert, top down and a HUGE Afghan hound sitting between them on the console!! The dog's head was at least a foot above the windshield. I can just imagine going down the highway like that.........

People who love pets 'n vettes are very special people indeed! If you've never known the unconditional love that you get from a loyal pet you're really missing out on something! Kudo's to all of you that share the fun with your buddies!

I am surprised that no one had mentioned having a cat ride in your Vette, I take him from Michigan to Fl and from FL to Michigan each year, also have him live on my boat with the family.
Wow! Loved the stories, especially the one on the beagle...thanks for sharing!
My maltese loves the vette because its low enuff to jump in and out easily. I definately agree about the unconditional love you get. As a matter of fact, one couple I know both say if they'd known how much love they'd get from their pair of indoor dogs, they would have got them years ago and skipped having children! LOL
That is adorable! Our two are ready to go at any moments notice...Peke and Chihuahua. I too, put down a beach towel to protect the seats but they always end up on my lap driving!
