Does anyone here use Grundy to insure their Vette? Today they gave me a quote of $520 a year for full coverage with no deductable on both my '94 and my '97, right now I am paying $2004 to Allstate. I think a saving of almost $1500 is worth switching. By the way the only restriction with Grundy is it can not be use for everyday use and there is unlimited milage.
I tried them,, told me I COULD NOT drive the car to hardware, grocery, or movies. ONLY automotive related events,,,parades, car shows and such. They even went as far to say if I was on a sunday cruise, I may not be covered...I went with another collector car insurance,, cant remember the name, but I will try to post it tonite...Grundy had good prices, but TOOOOOO many rules. watch the fiine print

They also told me they would only take it if I would insure both vettes with them under the same conditions, if I sold one the other would be dropped if I did not replace the 2nd in 6 months.
The C4 is used everyday so that did not work.
I went with american hobbiest no restriction other than it must be kept in a garage.
$720 a year for a $80k agreed policy.

Do you have a phone # or web site where I can get ahold of them?
Admiral Fairway,
I looked into Grundy Ins. about 6 months ago, they were so RUDE I will never look to there company again. I had spent almost an hour on the phone with some blunt snooty lady giving here all my info, when I gave here my DOB so said we don't take people like you and hung up Back to topic before I start I too was insured under allstate and had no complaints except for the price. Grundy is a good deal if you don't use the car for daily driving (Or much of anything else). I mentioned to my agent if there were "special" coverage for my cars under allstate, he said no but under Hagerty there were. Seems that Hagerty is owned by Allstate, or something like that, he was super nice and it saved me almost 1200 per year. If I can remember correctly you have to have the cars stored in a locked garage, there are limits to who can drive, no mileage limitations, you must have a alternate daily driver, you can not drive them to work of for job related functions. I can't say enough about the customer service, they sent an appraiser to my house to photograph the cars and storage facilities. Then supplied me with three independent appraisals of the cars form different people. This was far above my expeditions, I expected to be low balled on the value of the cars based on year, this was not so the '96 appraised at 1K less than sticker in '96, and the '89 was almost equally as impressive. With this being said just shop around and see what you can find, there are lots of companies. Best of luck in you search.

Question: Is Grundy just a broker? If so then you need to investigate closely who the actual insurance CARRIER (company) is!
All brokers do is act as the middle man between the customer and the insurance company.
Anybody who has used Grundy......who is the carrier?
Also, what good is cheap insurance if you can't drive the car?
