Default Waxing before Clear Bra install??

Hey guys, I'm getting the 3m Paint Protection on the vert for christmas whether Santa get's it for me or not and I recently ordered the Zaino kit. I have a Yamaha R1 and have the clear pieces to protect my tank and I was told to wax before I installed them. So I was wondering if this applied to cars as well... Should I clay bar and wax it before I have a shop put on the clear bra, will it make a difference? Thanks

You may find that questions of this nature are better asked in the Car Care Products section of the Forum. Several knowlegeable people hang out there and they should be able to help you with your questions. Good luck!

I had my my new baby done recently and the guy asked me if it was OK for him to strip the wax off. Might have been his preference to do that. But at a minimum probably wouldn't hurt to at least claybar it to give them a nice clean surface to work with..

Remove all wax with prep-sol or equivilent. The adhesive must have a clean surface to get maximum adhesion. Otherwise it will eventually start to lift. The installer should know this.
