What I do is push the hazard switch on and off until the turn signal starts working. It works everytime.

Turn Signals Wont Work????
well it looks like i have a intermediate problem with my turn signals... they will work sometimes and then not....i can hit the 4 ways and they work and then hit the signal and it will work...not sure where to start looking for a problem...anybody else had this type of problem?

The problem is in your hazard swithc. The turn signals are wired throught the switch and GM had a bad run of switches (imagine that 
).
Two ways to fix it.
1 replace the hazard switch ( dash board will need to be removed it goes in from the back)
2 This is the one I use. When they don't work lightly hit above and to the left of the hazard switch with your fist. Works every time for me.

It honestly amazes me why we love these cars.
I Swear, GM should send us annual "Loyalty Gift Certificates" Redeemable towards future service repairs.

My 99' does the same thing. I turn on the flashers and then the blinkers work again but this does not always help. Sometimes after driving for long periods of time they just won't work. I found the switch at GMparts Direct for $20. It is #10359036 for my car.
