Default Shift Light

Does anyone has or knows how to install a shiftlight in a 03 ZO6, I been told that since it is a pointless distributor "Good Luck"

I'm a daily driver and constantly at least three times per week I have to remind some of these lost souls that a ZO6 is something that you have to think about before charging head on.

Reason for the shiftlight is that I have mostly every time I have raced I have over reved it but still managed to win with plenty of space in between and I do not want to damage the engine.

It's hard to look at the HUD to see the RPM to be able to shift in time, I also have a 1969 Roadrunner (510 Cubic Inch) and a 1970 GTX (440 Six Pack) and they both have a Monster tack with a shiftlight, that light comes on and you shift, that simple.

THANKS in advance

You didn't mention what brand of shift light you were installing. But try searching the forum using the word Raptor. Many people have installed this shift light and like it.

You need to hook up to power & ground, as well as the tach signal which is a white wire coming out of the PCM. I'll try to find the how-to link.....

Here's some excellent instructions from Flyin'Brian that I used to wire in my shift light. It seems to be a lot easier than going through firewall.
Then I mounted the light in my duel gauge pillar pod.

Here's a pic of where I mounted light in pillar pod.

Here's the instructions by: Flyin'Brian:
Remove bottom of dash

This is the harness that the wire is in

A look at all the wires in the harness

Here the wire is isolated from the rest

A close up of the White tach signal wire. There are 3 small 18g
white wires, but I noticed that the one we need is a little bit Off White(like bone white) they may not all be like that.

Default Shiftlight

THANK-YOU very much Sylor/EFI 1 and Z06 Jim
I will try to buy the RAPTOR or the kind that Flying Brian recomended to Z06 Jim, the one with the pilar gauge. I do not have a Fuel Pressure regulator on the Z06 yet but the pilar gauge looks nice especially with the shiftlight on top of it.

Thank-You guys I'm glad I can count on you Z06 gurus

I will let you know as to what and when I install it Z06's are Bad A--.

Too many toys not enough time to enjoy them all

Default shift light

I installed a Stewart Warner shift lite in my dual pillar pod. It shows rpms in red and you have a choice of three lights for shift. I chose blue. Around $160 for gauge plus install. Makes for a great interior light show. I have never seen another car with this gauge.
