Anyone tried any road noise reduction techniques such as dynomat under the carpets and in the door panels of your ZO6 or any other tips? I'd gladly give up a few pounds of weight (dynomat is heavy) to cut some decibels on concrete highways.
If you don't already have one, a partition is the best bang for the buck. It will quiet the cabin considerably, especially rear suspension and exhaust noise. With my partition, the biggest culprit is the tires on concrete surfaces. Otherwise, the car is very quiet and civilized for a such a great performer!
I had the Dynomat installed in most of the car when I had the sound system upgraded. The extra weight was insignificant. It had a positive effect on the noise level although I was hoping for more. I would say it was worth the investment.
I installed 2 layers of Dynamat. You can check the pics out under "my Corvette Photos" Took about a day and a half to do. I have a supercharger, headers and borla stingers. Was very loud before. It did help quite a bit. I still need to do the roof of the trunk lid and the doors which should also help. I may install a third layer.
The total weight was about 65-70 lbs.
Supercharger + More weight in the rear = more traction
Tires are the biggy. Running Mich Pilot Sports and the sound is easily cut by half.
One of my biggest objections to the Goodyears, is how they seem to follow every imperfection in the road, particularly wear troughs, particularly when the tires are cold. Is the Pilot Sport a better tracking tire. My Z is a daily driver and I'm due to replace tires soon and would like a little more user friendly tire.

Slamar, In a round about way, I have your old Iforged Aero's, and guess what dude.....They are Awsome...Thanks!
I've both dynamated and partitioned my ride. With the new Route66 exhaust instead of PRT's and the NittoRII tires, it's pretty quiet in the car. You can have a conversation with a friend, without raising your voice.
Do an advanced search under Frost King! This is a VERY worth while MOD and makes a big difference in cabin noise from the tires and wind over the body!
Someone else on the forum shared with me that the void behind the drivers seat, to the front of the inner rear fender skirt is a huge source of noise. I removed the fender skirt (very easy to do) and filled this void with standard fiberglass insulation. You need to pack around the gas tank filler tube. Since the drivers side was so easy to do, I removed the passenger rear fender skirt and put some insulation up there too.
