I don't know about the other x-pipes, but I have the Bassani and it has been a good purchase. The fit and finish is very good and it solved much of my popping and resonance. I bought mine at one of the major Corvette events and got a great price.
I had a Magnaflow ordered and installed at a muffler shop(magnaflow dealer) for a great price. Much less than me ordering and doing it myself and its welded in. I liked their design best.
My local wheel/muffler shop had about a 15" X-pipe section made by Magnaflow that fit in place of the stock H-pipe section. They cut out the H-pipe section and welded in the Magnaflow X-pipe. Worked great and saved some $$. The factory 2.5" exhaust pipe is really not bad. Muffler shop guys said it was thick stuff to cut.
My H-pipe has a crack in it.... That's why I'm changing it out...
The crack was found while installing the Borla's...
Thanks for all the opinions.

When you carefully study the fit and finish and how the X chamber is configured, the Bassani is the hands down winner in my book. They can be a little more expensive than others, but just compare the pictures and you can see why. You get what you pay for. In order to do it's job well an X pipe has to be more than just two exhaust pipes welded together. Many of the pieces for sale appear to be no more than just that, while the Bassani has a carefully engineered central chamber. It makes a big difference in performance and sound.

I ordered the Bassani for the reasons you stated... Just looked like had the best x chamber.
The guys at Corvette Garage had the best price; $45 less than Mid-America......... I've dealt with M.A. for the past 15 years, but they were alot more proud of their pipe....... They are local, that's why I like them, but I'll shop around from now on...
Anyway, Thank you all for the opinions. This is a great forum...

I could only recommend an X-pipe as a means to turn the volume of sound down on your ehhaust system. Don't put one on because you are trying to add 3 to 5 HP cuz you ain't gonna get it.
Some exhaust systems sound better with an X-pipe and one is Corsa Indy's. If Borla is a bit to loud add an X-pipe.
If you are dead set on adding HP, open up the hole in the H-pipe. It is a lot cheeper. GM closed up the hole for a reason. I would sure like to know what it is.
I have a MagnaFlow X pipe with Corsa Indy's. Bought MagnaFlow because the design looked to be superior to the Corsa. I also liked the Bassani for its design but didn't buy it.
