When I took my car in for an oil change I had the service attendant print me out a copy of my car history. I included build date, time and options.

Since your car is #4954 made in your model year I would guess that your build date is going to be about the middle of September. This is just a little trick to figure out what month a car is built in if you only have the VIN #. Since they normally start production about the first of August and they build about 3000 cars per month that would put your build date about mid September. Let me know how close my guess is to you actual build date.

You can use this little formula to guestimate the build date on any C-5 98 or later. Lets say you see a C-5 for sale and you can see the VIN thru the windshield and it is #24005. Divide that by 3000 and that tells you it was built about the end of eight months production which would be about the end of March.

This is just something you can store in your "compendium of useless information"

SpongeVette can give this to you (great service on his part) or you can go to your local dealer and they can look it up in their computer system.
