Default What trans fluid

I'm going to have the trans fluid changed. The stock Dexron III turned brown and caused shifting problems. So, what would your brand be?

I put Mobil1 synthetic ATF in my Z, works great. I also used it in my 99 6speed with no problems. Amsoil and Redline are other popular choices.

I use Royal Purple, you can really tell the difference as it shifts some much smoother.

My response below is the same as another very similar question posed recently. Sorry for the double post, but wasn't sure if you saw the other thread.

I have been using synthetics in mine from my very first change at about 800 miles. I used Redline D4 ATF for about 18 months, then changed to AMSOIL ATF about a year ago. I now have something like 16k total miles, 24 SCCA races and 9 Driver's Education days on my stock tranny and it is still running strong.

AMSOIL ATF

This ATF meets DEXRON III specifications.

As a side note, AMSOIL now sells bottle pumps that screw right onto their bottles. They can be found at the bottom of the tranny or gear lube link on their online store.

Buy AMSOIL at Wholesale
AMSOIL Preferred Customer Program allows you to buy any AMSOIL product at wholesale, which is about 15-20% less expensive than retail. Cost is $10 per six months and you can buy as much oil as you want during that six months. To sign up, all it takes is one phone call to 1-800-777-7094. Give them reference number 1206638.

Or you can use this link:
AMSOIL Preferred Customer Program
Again, please put 1206638 in the customer number block.
Thanks.

I use Mobil1 ATF and when I switched shift action was smoother.
I'll also bet trans temp is lower than std ATF also

I've been told a flush in the A4 takes about 11 quarts. If you have a Z06 or C5 with a six speed, all that most people do is a drain and refill which only takes 4 quarts. I sent you a PM with more info.
