Hi Guys, I just got my new 2001 convertable but did not get a manual. Does anyone know how to program the two keys for different drivers? My settings keeps going back to default. Thanks in advance.
Reading your post I assume you mean the seat/entry mode. Set your seat to the settings you want and press the #1 until it flashes. Then repeat on the #2 setting. Hope that answers the question.
1. Turn the ingnition key to the ON position
2. Clear any warning messages on the Driver Information Center (DIC) by pressing the RESET button.
3. Press the OPTIONS button on the DIC several times until the blank page is displayed, then press and hold the RESET button for two seconds.
4. When the message FOB TRAINING is displayed, push the RESET button once. The message HOLD LK+UNLK 1ST FOB will be displayed.
5. Press and hold the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on the transmitter simultaneously for 15 seconds.
6. When a transmitter is learned, the DIC will display FOB LEARNED and then prompt you to learn the next transmitter.
7. Repeat steps 5 and 6 for each additional transmitter.
8. Remove the key from the ignition.
The programmer mode will shut off if:
You don't program any transmitters for two minutes.
You take the key out of the ignition.
You have programmed three transmitters.

The FOBs have a 1 or a 2 on the back of them, for driver 1 or driver 2. When I bought my Vette, I did not know this and it only came with 1 FOB (Driver 2), and no matter what I did, whenever I opened the doors with that FOB, all settings returned to #2 memory.
When I went to Chevy to buy a second FOB, they asked me if I needed #1 or #2. Could this be the same issue you are having?
I believe so, I have the #2 right now and will be getting the #1 tomorrow, All of your post have been helpful and I plan to set everything up tomorrow. I still have my 82 but man I am in love with my C5 convertable. Thanks again for all your help, I plan to spen more time on the C5 BB for a while.
