[Z06] H-Pipe Noise

H-Pipe Noise
I have read (and heard on my car) the the whistling noise when free revving the Z-06 is due to the factory pipes between the manifolds to the mufflers and when this section is replaced the whistle is gone. The H-pipe I am told is not a full diameter pass from side to side, one or both of the side pipes have a considerably smaller hole. I feel that this small cross pass hole could be the culprit of the whistle noise and could easily be opened up by cutting a hole outside of the H-pipe, coring the restriction and then patching the access hole. I have machine tools and welding equipment to easily handle this task. Has any one seen this restriction in the factory H-pipe?

H-Pipe Restriction
Yes, the H-Pipe the I cut out when changing over the the Magnaflow X-pipe had only small holes on each side of the 'H'. I estimate that they are about 0.7 inch in diameter.
