I'm lowered on stock bolts w/ cut bushings and also BMR front and rear sway bars. Car rides like $hit over bumps. Can feel something hitting under floor board and it makes a noise similar to when the nose guard hits the ground, though it isn't the nose guard making the noise. Been lowered for 4 months now, and still trying to fix. Bilstein shocks did not improve it. Norris motorsport is going to replace my joints with new ones as they were apparently put in wrong on install and have way to much give. A corvette is a sports car...leave the sports car suspension as is.
Got lowering bolts on order right now. Still fretting over the idea of cutting the bushings but the below pic is all the way down without these mods and that ain't getting it.
The issue I encounter on Michigan's poor roads is the scrapping of the corners of the front spoiler. I have resigned myself to the fact that sometime in the future - 5 to 7 years from now - I will have to replace the outer sections of the spoiler.
In my mind that is minor when compared to the greatly improved look and handling feel that my car has now that I have lowered it. Mine is lowered 1.25 inches. I cut the bottom two donuts off the front adjuster bolts, and installed 6-inch long 9/16 inch Grade 8 bolts, flat washers, and prevailing torque nuts in the rear. I did not cut or remove the rear bushings.
lowered with no regrets and I have the inclunded driveway. I've learned to approach it at a 45 degree angle and generally dont hear any scraping up front Lower it, it wont hurt it

Gotta love these Michigan roads. Were called the Motor City and we can't even Motor around the City.
I have mine lowered on stock bolts all the way in the front and longer bolts I bought from WCC in the back. I think its about 1.5 inches all around. At least it was when I last checked. I'm actually thinking about going to coilovers so I can lower it even more. But like said above Michigan roads suck azz!

Ya'll have made my mind up for me. I just printed the lowering instructions form an old thread and I'm going to work on it this week-end. Thanks to all for your input.
Your going to love it! Just enter/exit your driveway at an angle!

A lowered Vette sure looks good and the handling can be improved. But for me, I would never make it up my driveway if I lowered it even a little bit. So, unless I move, it has to stay the stock height.
ET, I'm convinced you've removed the springs. I've got mine all the way down on stock bolts and I can get three fingers between the top of the tire and the bottom of my rear quarterpanel.

My bad boy is going to have to get DOWN!
My car is five years old, with 56,000 miles on it.. I can get one finger between my rear tire and the rear quarter panel ( that is ,if it isnt swollen). I have not done anything other than lower it on stock bolts... I think over time, all things seem to go south.. except for those wimmins wif large silicone breasteses.
Lower it....that's the best visual mod I've done yet....see sig. My car is lower than most....cut bushings front and rear on stock bolts, but I love the look.

Hell, mine's SEVEN years old. Not as many miles but the springs have been holding the weight for longer and it's just as high as a new one off the showroom floor.
You sure you didn't pull the springs out?
But those "wimmins wif large silicone breasteses" sure do stick up don't they?
Fun to watch when a bunch of them wimmins are laying down to tan at the beach. You can look down the line and see thems that has 'em and thems that don't!

Mine's the same Jack - and we lowered both our rides on the same week. Mine still looks like a 4x4...
I've been wondering about this for while since lowering is a possibility
in the near future?
Can you lower the car on stock bolts both the front and rear? Or is this
possible with the front only since vendors only sell rear lowering bolts?
This of course without any cutting.

You can lower both. lowering bolts are needed to lower the rear beyond the limits of the stock bolts. Iin order to lower the front lower than the limits of the stock bolts, you need to cut the bushings.
