I purchased a set of Boyd's wheels for my '55 about four years ago, and VERY shortly after that, his wheel company did file bankrupcy, but since then, I do not know what he has done with wheels. I have not seen any advertised in Hot Rod mag. or elswhere.... I purchased the wheels on my credit card at a car show and the wheels had to be made and sent to me, and luckily, I did get the wheels, as aposed to a letter saying "sorry" we are bankrupt.no wheels for you!!!.. my hats off to Boyd.
If the weight is reasonable and the center-sections were painted to match the car, they'd be great.
I read recently, B.C.'s back in business and that the wheel company was a separate entity, not going to return run by Boyd. But, who knows with all the legal shannanigans possible?
These wheels do appear identical to DirtyRed's. Who made those? Anyone can engrave a ctr-cap and stick on any wheel.
Check out www.socalcarculture.com. Listed under events for Dec. 11 is a cruise to Boyd Coddington's garage. 811 EAST Lambert RD. La Harbra Ca. 562- 691- 8215. He's still around and laughing all the way to the bank.
