Default Need Electrical Help Quickly Please

I am trying to hardwire my V1 in my 04 Z06. Since I want to use the remote unit I can't use the mirror location that is so popular of late. I will confess immediately that I am not very experienced with complicated electronics...I have a basic knowledge...I think enough to do something if I get good instructions...maybe just enough to get myself in real trouble!

Anyway...I would like to hardwire somewhere under the dash...I have the toe board open on the passenger side but can't seem to find any available accessory wires. I would like to find a wire that comes on with the ignition. I have the hardwire setup from Valentine which seems pretty easy to use once I find the right power wire.

Can anyone help me with this...please!

Thanks for all the help. I'm overwhelmed with the response...maybe if I ask for help with exhaust or a power mod I can actually get someone to reply!

The wires you seek are not present in 2003 and up, sorry, not sure how to do it in those models.

Sarcasm generally gets you fewer responses. Maybe if you did a simple search you too could have found three pages of links, approximately 20-25 links per page or 60-75 previous topics.

I think there are many that feel the way I do - do a search first and then post only if you can't get pertinent data from the search stating you did a search. Everytime I have done that I have been literally overwhelmed with people responding.

Thanks for the replys...I did finally come up with a solution. I could not use the mirror location because of the fact that I want to use a remote with my V1, otherwise I think it is the best available solution. I found a wire connected to the ignition, with the help of my good friend and we mounted a wire in the connector similar to the mirror mod so that the detector comes on with the ignition. Good news is it is working.

I am leaving my console stuff apart for now because I have a shifter from BPP coming in tomorrow and I didn't see the need to put it together just to pull it apart in a couple more days. Can't wait to get the new shifter installed!

Scott, if you go the the Tech Tips in this forum there is a full install of the V1, gaining power access at the passenger foot board

Dave
The sarcasm didn't get added until well after I had been waiting and hoping for a response. Sarcasm is not necessarily an evil thing. It was simply a good natured response to my own post. If you follow my posts, you will find that I am known for my normally good humor.
For your information, I did do more than one search and found some things that did not apply to my particular situation...I researched this thoroughly before I started, but found that the wiring in my car was different than some of the older vehicles that many of the tech tips are written for. Only then did I ask for help. Isn't that what this forum is for? Why do you assume that I didn't do a search. If you don't want to answer my request for help or you get frustrated when people ask for it, simply do not respond. Your response, no matter how well intentioned did not help at all, except perhaps to get some frustration off of your chest.
