Anyone know where I can find a decent ( non cheap ) compass I can use in my car. I am still getting use to the Florida area and everyone seems to give directions in East West South or North.
I'd love something that blends in nicely and maybe has a backlight for night viewing.
You might try Sears. They have one for about $20 that is on sale. I have one, and I like it a lot, being the C5 can't afford the "mirrior" version! It shows direction and degrees for that direction. I believe that it has a back-up light , but I have not needed mine yet. It is just a battery power, but it is a clean install (3 small suction cups).

I have a Whistler Radar Detector with a built in compass. Seems to be quite accurate.

I have the wayfinder, just don't like having to turn it on all the time and can't seem to get any back light on it, is yours the same?
If your car does not have a self dimming rear view mirror, you might consider getting one w/ a compass built into it. I installed one a few years ago and I'm very pleased w/ it.

Anyway to get a cheap one? I saw a few in the $220 range and for a rear mirror, that is way to much for me.
I use a handheld Garmin GPS when I'm out on Galveston Bay fishing and carry it with me in the Vette if I'm going on a trip. They have many different models, most are capable of downloading maps from the internet, etc.....
Just a thought.
