I'm making some lighting mods to allow me to take my 'Vert back to UK when I return in 06. I've bought T85 headlights which come with a housing for a "sidelight" lamp. I plan to tap into the existing side outer ambers in the turn signal unit and fit new bulb holders into the new headlights. With Twilight Sentinel off, I want the new sidelight lamps to light up when I select the sidelight position on the lighting stalk on the steering wheel column.
My plan works with one small problem which is that when I turn the sidelights on with the "stalk", the headlamps stay stowed. I need them to pop up when sidelights are selected (with Twilight Sentinel turned off).
Can anyone explain how the headlamps pop up? Where does the signal come from. Can I add a connection to make them do this with sidelights selected as well as full headlights?
I take it you want the headlamp up, but the headlamp bulbs off, with the side marker lamps on. On my 03, if you manually turn on the headlamps, the lights pop up, but if you turn the stalk back to park lamps, the park lamps stay on and the headlamps turn off, without the headlamp assemblies going down.
The headlamp control module activates the motors to pop up the lights.
This module is located under the RH pop up lights, under the fascia. If you need more information, write me at whitec5vette@aol.com
