The other day hit the remote open the trunk on my FRC and it popped , but I couldn't get me fingers under the lid to open it. Turned out the power latch bolts came loose and the assembly dropped down. Easy fix, but you have to pull off the license plate-backup light assy. Anybody else with hardtops or convert. have this problem?
I was having trouble getting my fingers under the edge of the trunk lid as it would not pop up enough when I pushed the trunk button. Someone on the forum said they solved that problem by squirting a little WD-40 on the latch assembly. I immediately ran to the basement garage and applied the WD-40 and sure enough the trunk lid has popped up every time since then and that's been at least two weeks.

A little bit of oil on the hinge points will make a world of difference.

I saw the same post and it worked. As for the bolts on the latch, you don't get to them from the license plate. If you take the carpet loose you'll be able to easily acess it from inside the trunk. Just slide the assembly up and tighten the bolts good.
Good Luck!
