Even with Dave's CAI mod, you would have to drive in water above about half the height of the front wheel or more to suck in water....at which point the stock system would also suck it in most likely....remember it's a car not a boat

The stinger intake rocks

Both the Blackwing and Halltech Warhead filters have been thoroughly tested and they produce flow numbers that are similar. However, while the Blackwing comes with just a filter, the Halltech Stinger-R includes the slightly larger (surface area) filter, a larger-than-stock airbridge, and a smooth throttlebody coupler. Those extra items would cost a Blackwing owner a couple of hundred dollars more than the $250 he already spent on the filter!
Now, does the larger airbridge and smooth coupler make a big difference? Yes, if you have an aggressive cam, super or turbo-charger. I have yet to see a Blackwing-equipped C5 with only a cat-back exceed my dyno numbers, so I would venture to say that your increase will be 10-15 RWHP with an aftermarket cat-back, regardless of which one you choose. Just keep in mind that the flow potential of the Halltech will most likely be greater.

Summation: The Stinger IS the best bang for the buck in intake systems. (especially at the fantastic GP price that is going on now)

I believe the TRAP is a Cold Air Rammer intake thru the Front license Plate opening and the stinger is not.

Jim Hall has hosted both of my Stinger-R-related procedures for a while now and I believe the links to them are still there in his website. I recently whipped up my own website that includes that Stinger-R install and an inexpensive Cold Air Intake install. Check them out at:

http://www.conceptualpolymer.com/corvette_c5_corner.htm

Also, feel free to check out my shift ***** while you're there. I guarantee you've never seen anything like them anywhere else (end of shameless plug!).
