In the past couple days I received some emails seeking driving advice for the drag strip, but due to a computer glitch I lost those emails before I could reply.
If you were a sender of any of those lost emails, please resend.
I really enjoyed watching you race on Sunday. Your car fly's. Man how long will it take to get all of that rubber out of the wheel wells? I will pick up a helmut over the off season, and will join you the next time. Thanks for all of the advise on racing the Z. Don
Hi Ranger, i think it was my questions, since then ive been able to track down other post that you,ve submitted. Thanks for all of your advice, I bought an 02 Z06 with 11K on it, it is torch red, it has Longfeller Z06 Chrome R rims, stock tires, SLP long tube headers,SLP X pipe cats, mufflers, and a Donaldson Blackwing air intake box. I pais 34K for the car and the dealer(it was a trade in) knew nothing about the proformance end of the car. I couldn't get the car to run higher than 12.9 in the 1/4 at ATCO in NJ. Since reading this forum, I've found out about comp mode button, your advice on burnouts (2nd gear etc..) and I'm in awe of your times. One of the guys that works for me has a cobra, some bolts and ran a 12.1, I have to do better, I run on street tires and lowered the psi to 20lbs. Getting to cold now, have to wait till spring.

Hey, 76Stingray&02Z06. Glad you found this thread. I was feeling bad about losing your email. Now if the other guys find the thread....
Come March, the weather will warm up enough for the tracks to reopen and the clutch punishment can begin again.
All the guys trying to run fast times in a Z06 might want to keep in mind that it take 40-60 passes to get comfortable and produce consistent results. That means practice, practice, practice.
It also pays when you are at the track to hook up with other Z06 racers and pick their brain on techniques that work, tire pressure, launch rpm, clutch release, etc. This doesn't mean that you necessarily adopt their methods, but the discussion will help you better identify and understand the variable in play.
