I had my windshield replaced by Safelite this week.
Unfortunately, the installer tore the vinyl on the passenger side A pillar interior trim piece.
Fortunately, they agreed to replace this piece at no cost.
When I looked at the inside of the windshield further this evening, I noticed another possible problem.
The interior trim piece that runs along the top of the windshield seems to be bent out to the right of the mirror.
This is the piece that the mirror wire hides behind.
On the right side of the mirror, this trim piece is not flush with the windshield for about 3 inches.
I would appreciate it if anyone could look at this trim piece along the top of their windshield and see if it is flush against the glass from the right to left A pillar.
Or, does it bend down about 1/4" to the right of the mirror for about 3 inches?
Good lord am I frustrated!
Thanks!
Rob

I went to my garage and checked for you. That interior trim piece does seem to go slightly away from the windshield for about 3 inches on both sides of the mirror. It's flush against the glass from the left side across to the right side except for an area about 3 inches away from the mirror on both sides. It's normal.
Hope that helps.

Seems like those gaps are there for the wiring for the rearview mirror. Have a great weekend...
