did anyone see the article for the top ten cars that hold their residual value after 5 years of use. number 7 on the list was the corvette. they expect the 2005 corvette to hold 48.5% of its value after 5 years of use. kinda funny that it loses about 5% in the first 5 minutes of driving it off the lot.
i guess if i think about it, my 98 with 21k miles is just over 6 years old and had a sticker of $42675.00 and 48.5% of that is $20697.38, the going price nowadays.

I wonder what effect the recent dumping of C5's will have on those numbers. I bought my 04 convertible in August. I got nearly a $12K discount, which was about 21% ($42,800/$54,400) off MSRP. I find it hard to believe that the discounts we all got on late C5's won't have a trickle down effect. But hey, if I can have the car worth $26K in five years, I'll take it.
