Is there a relatively inexpensive way to decrease the amount of time it takes when you mash the gas pedal to when the automatic transmission decides to put the power to the ground?
Seems like there is a good 1.5 - 2 second delay from when I floor it to when the car takes off.
Partly due to the electronic throttle lag, not felt in manuals since you can rev the engine and let out the clutch, partly due to engine management program of the PCM. There might be a program that correct the engine management part of the problem.

This is on an A4 2000 coupe
Yup, just swap out the automatic with a 6spd manual. The power is instant. Oh wait, did you say inexpensive?

I used a predator, helped just a little, best feature is it shifts a lot faster between gears, and you can set the coolant fans to come on a bit earlier.
If it is the standard 2.73, it is a dog off the line, but from a 20 roll, it ain't bad.
