i always use shell/ i used to put sunoco 94 in my chevelle and it didnt seem to feel right i switched to shell 93 and its alot smother. the motor is made to run up 2 106+ octane so i didnt see the problem so when im crusing on the streetes its shell v power
For the last twelve years I have used the cheapest gas I can find as long as it is 92 or better octane. Periodically I add a bottle of injector cleaner. I have never had a fuel related problem.
Chevron seems to work for me and most people who have access to it. I have a friend with a C5 vert and he swears by Amoco/BP. I've heard Mobil is good also. From your list I'd go with Shell VPower.
I get the cheapest gas I can find. AFAIK, outside of the track and one gas station, only 91 octane is available here. Anyone know what CostCo uses? It's usually the cheapest here. The base is supposed to have the cheapest gas in town, but rarely does.
My advice to you is to screen your responses to reflect only those within your region. To me, the question of which gas is best depends on which refinery the raw product comes from. The additive packages do make some difference as you can read from the "top tier" gasoline article earlier. If you want to avoid fuel gage problems then you need to be more concerned with who has the lowest sulfer content in their gasoline. I don't know of any publications that will give you this information so you need to determine this indirectly by asking "locals" what works best for them. I would be skeptical of any refined gasoline that is made from "sour crude" oil stocks.
Then all the BP and/or AMOCO stations near me started to disappear and change to Texaco. That was the same time V-power came out. So, now I used V-power or Exxon and the problem still has not returned.
Chevron's are hard to find around here.
Off subject, but what happened to Amoco/BP? Are they exiting your area? They aren't apart of Texaco (or if they are - I haven't heard anything about it).. I pass through tenn on way from Indy to Asheville - and see many Amoco's in Knoxville...
As a long time Amoco customer (that's all I put in my vette), I still don't write check to BP, but to Amoco Oil Co... I hate change!!!

Never again put a drop of Shell in my tank. Last year, just bought new Z06 and had put several tanks of Shell in. Going across 8 mile bay bridge in Mobile and fuel gauges drop to emtpy and fuel light check gauges just a falshing. Freaked out an though a ruptured tank and on a very long bride. Made it to the exit and had to stop in the projects for gas. No leak and only took about 6 bucks. Freaking Shell gas loaded with sulphur. Shell put out bulletin and paid to replace both fuel senders at 1400.00 GM tech bulletin recommended Chevron gas. Never had a problem since with Chevron

I've stuck exclusively with Chevron and 76 for years and never had a problem with fuel. I know these aren't on your list and I agree with the gentleman who suggested paying attention to replies from your area. My main point is stick with quality gas. The sulfur problem is new to me, maybe not a problem in my area. This is why I love the forum so much. A lot of good info gets out here.

Something else that I have not seen mentioned: I use stations that are frequented a lot! I figure the busier the station, the more cycles their tanks go through. Some stations are just never busy and I figure they don't go through as much gas in their tanks. More deposits in the tanks??
I have allways had good luck with Chevron in performance cars. But I use Mobil in my daily driver and the wifes Yukon beacause it's close to the house.
A 76 not too far sells 100 @ the pump for only $4.75 per gal.
Is anybody familiar with Entec? There are a couple Entec stations close to my school, and they are one of the cheapest places and have some good selling points. They have 93.5 octane, and were rated by some BMW test as #1 in quality. They had some kind of special micron filtration system in their pumps to eleminate any impurities.
