Default Installed my Halltech Stinger today. :)

Hey guys,
I installed my Halltech Stinger this afternoon, it was sooooo easy. The longest part was relearning the idle, but that was painless because it gave to an excuse to just drive for 30 miles. I know there is a group purchase for the Halltech Stinger Intakes and I thought I would just let you guys know how easy it was.

Sorry no pic here, cardomain sucks at hosting pics sometimes

Can you explain this Relearning the Idle part?
I installed the Halltech also and just drove the car after. Changed nothing on the computer. It did sound somewhat throaty and seemed to have a nice kick to it. Worth the purchase!

When I installed my Blackwing (basically the same thing as the Halltech), I got a "service active handling" message on the DIC, but it went away immediately and never came back. For the first hundred miles or so, my gas mileage dropped about 30%, but then recovered to normal. It does have a little 'throatier' sound now.

I don't understand the idle learning comment either.
Do you notice a real difference compared to what you had before?

I had mine dyno tuned after the install. I have an 04 and kept getting the check engine light. Motor was running very lean, but on the positive side I had an excuse to get the LS1 edit and my relatively stock Z06 dynoed at 384 RWHP. Excellent mod and easy to install.

I'm liking mine also! The idle re-learn is automatically done just by driving. Allows the computer to learn the new changes and adjust to them. And remember, if you always drive slow, that is how your car will learn to drive...so when you do nail it, it won't respond like a cat-like reflex, since it's not used to doing that

I also installed my Halltech stinger today. No problems with idle or wierd error codes. I do have a question is it supposed to hit the hood? My bridge is hitting the hood. Do I need to modifiy the radiator shroud so the bridge can sit lower.

It's completely normal for it to rub the hood liner a bit. Not a problem, it's not going to hurt any thing.

IS there a difference with any of these cold air intakes for the C5 ???

All I have done is the Borla Stinger Cat Back. Im soon going to upgrade to the Kooks Headers, Hi Flo Cats, and a Tune Program. Im still deciding on whether which Cold Air Intake to use......

Why did you choose the Halltech than the vararam $345 or the halltech Ram version for $5 hunge ? Or Others ????

Thanks for the Info.
