Default Question about mirror light.

I have an 04 vert. There is an orange light on the bottom of the rear view mirror. It's always on. How do I turn it off?

Thanks

I believe that it should only be on when your headlights are on.
I think if it's on all the time there might be something wrong and you should get it checked out.
There are a lot of members of the forum that will reply to this that are more knowledgeable then me and I'm sure you will get the straight skinny.
I would check it out with the headlights on and off first though.
Should go out when the lights are turned OFF.

Regards
Jim

Ya can't! It's a courtesy light, and it used to be on only when the headlights were on. It's purpose is to illuminate the console area - but I don't understand the point of having it on all the time. My buddy has an '04 convertible and pointed it out to me - telling me it's on all the time.

My '98 convertible, that light only comes in with the headlights. It doesn't matter anyway - my V1 fit right below it, so it's covered up. Maybe a piece of duct tape isn't such a bad idea. I think they make it in black!

black electrical tape might give you a better apearance than duct tape....

(I heard that "duct tape" was in fact origionally called "duck tape")

It is the "Mood" light, it lights up the console. Can't shut it off. Why do you not like it?

It's just annoying. Does chevy think I can't see the gear shift at night. I guess I'm going to try the electical tape idea.

Just part of being a C5 owner I guess. Some of them can be changed to blue etc.
