My neighbor is 26 years old and drives a brand new 2004 SRT everyday, rain or shine. It was over $90k out the door. My 2004 coupe with the discounts was less than $40k out the door. With $5-8k you can mod a Vette to outperform a Viper. Just look at the ALMS. Where were the VIPERS? Trying to catch the C5R's.

FYI, ALL Ford GT's were recalled this week because of Possible Failing suspension parts. Some "Better Idea"!

someone once told me to really enjoy a Viper you need to own three...
1 to drive today
1 to send to the shop
1 for parts
but in the end it's still a Dodge
No comparison...end of discussion!

Viper +'s = raw power, not too many on the road, exotic looks.
Vette +'s = good power (although not like the Viper), better fuel efficiency, better ergonomics, better all around package, more features available.

I wouldn't go so far as to say that.
It's definitely a faster car in stock form. However, when I think of what it would be like buying a Viper, I equate it to buying an $85,000 V10.
The knock on the Viper is that there's no real engineering innovation, just brute force. It's still a cool car IMO, however.
But I still wouldn't trade my C5 for one.
OK. So maybe I would, but I'd end up selling it and getting another Vette and modding the crap out of it.
