Steve,

At what RPMs do you have to idle that cam?

Are you aware of Darton's new sleeves that allow a bore diameter of up to 4.200"?

Give some thought to doing a 414 cid engine with a 4.185" bore and a more reasonable 3.760" stroke. That will allow you to use the C5R heads with their 2.20" intake valves.

Longevity will be greatly improved over the stroke you have to use to get to 434 cid.

Merry Christmas everyone

Pumba,

The car idles great at 900-1000 rpm. It can idle lower, but it sounds the best right around 1000 rpm. Has a good amount of lope in that range.

Yes, we are aware of the new Darton sleeves. Very exciting! But keep in mind, with these motors, reliability is usually more related to the sleeves than it is piston speed. So I prefer to keep the cylinders as thick as possible, to maintain as much block strength as we can. We do these every day, and the 434 is one of the best setups on the market! 4.155 bore with a 4.000 stroke in case you were curious. Still an over square motor, so it's all good :-)

As for C5R heads, definitely would be a great power making head! But considering the heads we use on these combinations flow 350+ cfm, and use a factory style intake, I'd say using C5R heads would be more geared towards someone wanting to all out race the car. With a good driver our 434 will run 9's on motor. Maybe you'd be interested in a 440 ci C5R headed solid roller motor for your vette?? We can do anything you want! Just give us a call, 281-448-1300.

Holy smoke i want one of these bad boys under the hood of my Z06 :-)
good damn what a sweet noice. But the idle is better than it was on the video i hope if the idle isnt it will be no chance in hell to pass the smog ***** here in Sweden . I just want a reliable 500rwhp motor that passes smog test ....
As you see iam from Sweden, so how much off the price if i install it myself ? Is all program tuning for the databox included in the price ?

It's called Forced Induction.....

Hard pressed to find a 500+ N/A RWHP that will pass the sniffer.

Steven, what about a clip with the mufflers?

Wondering if it's modest enough to drive on the street without attracting too much undesirable attention.....

I want reliable 500 rwhp sorry but you wont get that with a hairdrier many engines on this forum that have gone boom because they use F/I on a motor with high comp. and no forged internals, adding a blower is just paying for a disaster to happen. And there is no way in hell that a F/I would pass the test in Sweden the engineers at the test facility isnt brain dead you know.
