Parked beside a C6

Thanks!! I love the way the C5 hood looks, even though I'd love to get a carbon fiber one, I've yet to see a hood that in my eyes improves on what the factory did. Here in NY, the plates are required and cops constantly ticket for no plates. The C6 guys here always have to be looking over their shoulder. I wear my vanity plate with pride. She'll look even better from the front once she has her "sleepy eyes" installed someday.

I live in a small town in Northern Cali. We have a BUNCH of C5s here but only one Chevy dealer and I’ve never seen a C6 up close and personal. I saw one yesterday, in passing.
I spotted “Corvette” immediately. It was black. As it headed toward me, I noticed the bling of the large wheels and thought they were aftermarket. As it passed, I saw the driver, a sharp looking business woman. I’m thinking C5 all the while. Then, in my rear view mirror, I spot the unmistakable C6 logo. Wow, my first C6 sighting, and I thought it was a C5.
I really think that the black color had a lot to do with it because I couldn’t distinguish the C6 grill.
My take.

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts

I will be the rebel in this post, since I actually own both.
I have to say after owning the C6 for 6 weeks, I love this car. It is leaps and bounds above my 98.
I do get people straining their necks, and I cannot tell you how many people have taken pictures of it with their cell phones going down the road. I cannot take this car anywhere without gathering a crowd.
This car is so much better than my 98, I may sell the 98 because I am no longer interested in driving it.
I have posted this before, but will post it again
When I bought the 98, so many C4 people complained about the big rear end, and how much it looked like a Mazda, the C4 is so much better looking, GM really missed the mark, too many exagerrated curves.
Now the C6 comes out, and C4/C5 owners say - the rear is too small, not enough curves, and it looks like a Mazda.
Looks like a pattern to me.

2 minutes out of the dealership lot and I knew this car was an incredible improvement over my 98.
So, my experience has been the opposite of the original poster, with both cars in the driveway, people migrate to, and discuss the C6.
What I have found interesting is, I have been snubbed by every C4/C5 owner I come across. Not 1 will wave at me
If I am in the C5, I get plenty of waves... so what is up with that

when people say the C6 is "growing on me"... does that mean they are slowing "liking it" ... or just "getting use (accustomed) to it" ???
hehe.. Set the way back machine to 1997. Insert same sentence but with C5 reference..
I love my 2002 Coupe - but the C5 body style has never been my favorite - but its technical advances were the selling point for me.

The new C6 doesn't look like anything, heck, since the C6 is out, the C4 all the sudden doesn't look that bad and is starting to grow on me... go figure.
I just love it when a salesman says "you'll get use to it". What he's really saying is "you'll learn to live with it". Not me... and not anymore.
too much money being spent.
