Default Daily driver?

Does anyone have a Z06 for a daily driver? I have a Camaro SS right now, the is fairly well modded, and am thinking about selling it for a Z06. I have wanted one for ever, and finally going to just do it, but it will be my only vehicle, at least for a year or so. Any pros/cons of using one for daily driving?

No cons at all....I love driving my Z06 daily. Used to have a 98 coupe before and couple weeks ago, sold it and bought a Z06. It's my only car and it's fine with me. Jackyll and Hyde attitude for the Z06....you can limp and lug around below 3k rpm's with very good daily use driveability, yet hell can be unleashed very easily with the right foot. Get one!

I drive mine almost daily. I have several cars, so nothing is daily...

But if I really, absolutely have to get there (you know, like maybe do some minor offroad stuff) the Z06 is my weapon of choice...

The only con I have is that I go crazy keeping her clean. It's an awesome car and is very tame when you want it to be.

Does the front end end up looking like the f-body after some miles? As far as the paint.

Daily driver here. Also have a GM Z06 bra on there (as long as it's not raining) to keep the various sundry items on our lovely freeways from meeting the front end: paint buckets, tire treads, plastic lawn chairs, bumpers, you know, small stuff...

My daily commute is about 30 miles round trip. I look forward to the drive each day! It's so hard to not get into the throttle all the time once you've experienced what this car is really capable of. Good problem to have, no doubt....

Don't hesitate to have a Z for your daily driver. I went from a C5 'vert to this, and have no regrets.

Daily driver for me. Had it two years now. Bought it with 8K miles and now have 44K. The car was made for driving, not to be a garage queen.

I've put 2 thousand miles on my in the 5 weeks I've had it. It's the most fun car to drive that I've ever owned.

Daily driver here. It's an awesome every day car; I love driving it. The
only con I can think of is that the expensive stock tires wear out
quickly. I'm already on my second set after only 13K miles.

My Z06 is my daily ride and I couldn't be happier! This car has such a wide range of personality and ability. It can be docile and it can be wild. I like both personalities!

It's very comfortable on a long distance cruise. My introduction to the car was driving it home to CA from NC...a 3400 mile journey. It was one of the most fun and comfortable long distance trips I've ever taken and the gas mileage was great, even for a brand new car. It also works well on the 20-50 miles I drive it daily.

Oh and btw...I've never had more fun on exit and entrance ramps in my life!

I use my new 04 Z and 2000 Lightning as my daily drivers to work. The Lightning is used on rainy days. The cons are having to shut her down when I pull in to work and all the fun stops. Another con is thinking about all the people driving Honda Accords and supporting the Japanese that don't have that much better fuel mileage. I just got rid of a 1996 Corvette and only drove that to work on Fridays, the Z is way more fun to drive, and incredibly comfortable. Went downtown yesterday with a friend, he calls my Z a hopped up Cadillac. He is incredibly impressed with the comfort and ride.

My 04 Z is my daily driver, It's fun as hell and I love it! But it's not a replacement for the Honda Accord. It can't carry 5 people and doesn't have much of a trunk. My Z gets 16-17 in the city and 28 on the Hwy.
My wifes V6 accord gets 22 city and 32 hwy.
The Accord is built in Marysdale OH and has over 85% US content. More than many US brand cars.
I buy American as much as I can.. but sometimes you have to go with the Global economy thing to get what you want. With the US built accord, it was the lesser of many evils.

I had mine as a daily driver for about 18 months before I sort of got carried away with a roll cage and stuff. I loved it and what another one.

I found it very suitable for a daily driver and really looked forward to the 10 minutes or so I spent in it each morning and evening. The car was easy to drive, plenty of storage room in the trunk for whatever. I actually took mine across country for a summer when I was temporary duty in the Puget Sound and fit three months of stuff in the back.

Did 60 miles per day round trip rain or shine until last year when I left the rat race.

Driving the car put a smile on my face every day. No issues except SC tires in the rain which I changed to Toyos - end of spin-o-rama.

Daily driver here too! The only drawback is the number of miles on the car '04 and over 23k!
