Default Z06 Doors

I was thinking of putting "Lambo" style door hinges on my 04 Z06, what do you think? Nice touch or lame?

I thought about it until I saw the price!
Just the kit alone at WCC sells for $2599!

Also read the installation instructions you have to do some minor cutting of metal and doors.

Why waste a beautiful new Z06.....besides, IMHO it looks like Plus it will de-value the car and make it very difficult to re-sell I can think of better mods to buy for that amount of money. Just my 2 cents.

I quite like it. The fitting was covered in Corvette Fever last year and is really straightforward with just the rear edge rebate of the front wing to be trimmed slightly, bolt on the hinges and away you go. It's a very straightforwad bolt-on and the car can be restored to standard just as quickly and you wouldn't notice the difference.

As for being lame, well, I'd rather be able to get out without having try to avoid hitting the door on the car parked way too close to you. Also a huge boon if you have a small garage and don't want to hit the wall with the door (assuming your garage has the height) It's no lamer than a Lamborghini Countach and just watch the jaws drop every time you see the doors open on one of those. Certainly something different amongst all those other Vettes at the shows.

Considering the kit is just some scissor hinges and some hydraulic rams, the price does seem extremely high however.

I too am going to leave the heard on this one Its seems like a very novel idea, i too saw the Corvette Fever article, and it seems to be completly reversable, in terms of resale. And since most replys have been against, thats a good indicator it would deter resale.

And I will respectfully add to a previous post, Its a Vette, Keep it YOUR Vette.

Mods are fun, some are cool and work out some don't. Ive done both myself . The price seems high to me as well, but you are the judge.

Happy Holidays, and drive safe

Well it pretty much sounds like you have convinced yourself how HOT the doors are.
If you like them, thats all that matters. It is YOUR car.
Get the doors and enjoy. Dont worry about public opinion. Its not my car.
Good Luck and enjoy!!!!!

I wouldn't do it. I would rather spend that money on power adder mod.
