So, the wife and I are coming home after battling the Xmas crowds. We drove separately because we had met up after work to do some shopping. Upon our return home, I let her drive up first. She opened the electric wrought iron gate and drove on in. I drove up afterwards. She stopped her 4Runner and jumped out, absent-mindedly closing the gate behind her RIGHT ONTO ME AS I DROVE UP. My window was open and I realized in about 1/2 a second what was going on. I tried to grab the gate with my hand to try to stop it, but could only listen in dumb horror as I heard the "clangggg" of the gate against my door. Only you forum people can understand how unbelievably pizzed I got (and hurt, too, surprisingly). There's now a 2-3 mm scuff in the BSM, but no dent. THANK GOD for my BSMs. She's apologized for it, but that didn't make the sting hurt any less. I won't be talking to her for a couple of days.
We had a gate years ago but somone leaving our home didn't see it and drove the right front of their car into the end of the gate! Did quite a bit of damage!!
She probably feels worse than you, knowing how you care for your car.
Glad it wasn't to serious.
Hey everyone, thanks for all the support. In the end, it's just a small scuff on the left BSM. The wife and I are cool now. You guys were right, she felt worse than I did. Thanks for helping me vent my frustrations.
