I have a '00 M6 C5 coupe. For the past couple of months when turning the steering wheel sharply (pulling in my driveway) the car makes a slight thumping noise and there is hesitation in the rolling resistance of the tires. It feels as if the wheels are binding somehow? I was curious to know if anyone else has experienced this and if so, what would be the fix.
At the very least I was going to tighten all of the bolts in sight around the front wheels and sway bar.

Hmmm, I have experienced that phenomenon in my '04 coupe as well, and would love to find out if anyone could explain what exactly is going on with the front suspension/wheels.
Once the vette is pointed in a straight line the "thump" thump" quits and usually doesn't do it again until the next time I decide to take the vette out for a ride.
Can't be "flat spots", in the tires, because if I turn the steering wheel straight and then go back to turning, the noise stops.
I get the same in my '98, and this has absolutely NOTHING to do with runflats, as I don't have them. Hear and feel it, even in reverse, with steering turned tight. The sound is metered to speed, also. Faster you go, the quicker the sound and feel.
Agreed, it is not due to the runflats. I have the Kumuho's (spelling?) on my car. I swear the car didn't do this the first 3 months of ownership. It started about a month or two ago and I can't figure out why. I need someone to look at the tire while I'm turning sharply to figure out what the problem is.
If anyone else has input please let us know. Though I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one to experience this (misery loves company I guess?).
How about not turning that sharp?? My stock wheels never rubbed. How much did you lower your car??
My wheels rub when I turn that sharp now. I use 10.5 in fr on the street and 11" front track rims and DRM brake cooling ducts. SO I just dont turn that tight.

Yeah....Yeah...........Me Too....Me Too. I have to make a sharp right leaving my garage, I get the same noise..........Scary, Isn't It?
I have it also and I think it has to do with the fact that on an extremely hard turn (wheel locked in one direction) the radius of the inner and outer tires in the turn are not perfect so one tire skipps a bit over the road. Because this is only a low speed parking event I don't worry about it.
For me to get in and out of my driveway without scraping the airdam I have to approach the curb at an awkward angle and then turn the wheel sharply to finish my turn into my driveway. My car is essentially stock with the Kumuhos and it's not lowered. As long as it is considered "normal" then I won't worry about it.
