It is snow but not the type of snow that Tony Montana deals with in FL

The C5 with good tires is a handful in moderate snow -- but with those tires, it had to be outright scary. Glad you made it home ok and glad to see you used your head (slow speed, hazards on) to get home in one piece.

I went through the same thing early this year, during Chicago's first blizzard... hazards flashing and all , damn that was scarey.

:o

Well, just got back from the garage. Bucket of warm soapy water, soft towels, vacuumed and cleaned her insides gently... it was a rough night but it looks like the ol' gals once again speaking to me.

Looks like I put the 23rd in my post, yep it was the 22nd. Entered the date from when I typed it after getting home from the late show, so it was early this morning but we started our day on the 22nd.

The rear tire does look a bit overinflated by the wear, but they've only been on since July and are always around 32 psi. I'm afraid it's the heavy left foot that made them that way and not overinflation .

I'm almost to the point where I can breath again, and the cheeks are only just showing signs of unclenching. We have three other cars two of them with four wheel drive, but having been in London for the past two weeks combined with it being a 'date' night... I couldn't resist taking the vette.

About the only bright side was that my wife had a terrific time riding home so slowly, she got to see all the lights of christmas that we normally zoom past.

New tires... how am I going to ever have enough in my domestic embezzlement fund to get some performance mods when my darn GY-runflats only last three or four months

You really oughta get that lead foot affliction checked out, probably cheaper than tires!

No doubt you were carrying a few extra PSI. Couldn't possibly have been caused by aggressive driving.

Default My wife said...

if i had tires that looked like they just came off the drag strip, she would have called a cab. and sent the troops out to look for me at 'first light'.

Was wondering the same thing. A massive dishwasher detergent spill and some rain, perhaps?

And now for the final nail in my 'worst c5 owner in the world' coffin...

[/QUOTE]

Please make a note of this.... That center wear pattern on the rear tires is not caused by Over Inflation,,, It's caused by CENTRIFUCAL Force ... And you can take that to the bank. er ...I mean to the dump (that's where they belong)
