Just finished the install...I like 'em!. Bought the kit from Ecklers which included the foam and seals. Even painted the heads of the stainless screws red to match the taillights. No more trapped water after a wash and it looks sweet. Told the wife it's a mod that only a Corvette owner will notice....sort of gives an exotic look to the rear of the car.
Go to PFYC store thats shown in the left sidebar and click on exterior accessories. They've got good before and after pics of the mod. Looks like a little better price too.

That is the only reason I want to do mine. On a black car, it collects puddles of dirt in those recesses with just normal driving.
BTW - this is my 1000th post!!!!!!!!!!!!
4 stars!!!!!!!!
On your 4 Stars!!!
I agree about the puddles of dust...it drives me insane
It looks like a pretty easy and inexpensive mod (notice I didn't say "Cheap"). Think I'll do it too!
I stalled a set and took it off the same day. I didn't like the visibility of the seals.
I too installed the seals and didn't like the looks. So, I removed the seals. I really don't think they do anything. I've knows others who have done the same. (You'll get water in there even with the stock setup.)
I installed the kit. I like the look. However, I hate the rubber seals that show (even though you have to get close to the car to see them). I am relieved to know others feel that way, I may take off the seals.
I did this mod about a month ago. I bought the materials from Lowes and did it myself. I really like the look, and the dust problem is a non factor now.
Since I took these pics I have painted the stainless steel screws Metallic Navy Blue. Turned out really nice IMO.
