I was leaning towards the Garmin myself...Then I got in the wife's Acura, and the nav system on there is awesome. Its built by Alpine. So many choices...

I too am interested in the 2610. Where did you buy yours? Are you happy with the vendor? Also do you think an external antena is needed since I live in New York?

Garmin Street pilot III for me. It's very accurate, portable and easy to use. Today's equivalent is the 2610.

I am also running the garmin streetpilotIII with it mounted to the ashtray door and it works really well
