Many shows like Funfest have several cars with different exhausts installed for you to hear. One drawback is no chance to hear while cruising, something important, IMO. Many like the loud exhaust then add sound deadening material. There are also CDs available.

As far as exhaust systems, and which one sounds best.....

That's a choice only you can make after listening to several. In my mind, what's critical is not what it sounds like at idle, and WOT is irrelevent too - can you handle what it sounds like at cruise?
