I got some 50 watt halogen backup lights for my CRX at Autozone. Probably the same part # for the C5. Have you ever seen the bulbs I'm talking about? I might pull the bulb out of my CRX just to give it a shot. I worry a little about blowing a fuse though, especially with my high wattage H4 headlights and 55w foglights.

If you get a chance to try it, let us know. Also your impression of the increase in brighness when used. Thanks
Sure, I'll give a shot. Can you do me a favor and tell me the type of backup lights in our C5's? It's easy for me to pull the light out of my CRX, but I don't want to attempt it in my C5 if it's not the same bulb. Favor for a favor right?
I have the bulb in hand. It's a 50 watt halogen bulb. That's all I know.
The bulb itself is scary. It looks like the tip of the bulb caved in, and the rubber boot at the base of the bulb has been severely distorted. Even though I suspect heat to be the problem, I can't understand why the lightbulb couldn't take the heat. I would've expected damage to the light assembly since it was designed to take something like a 33 watt bulb. I can post pics of the bulb if anyone wants, but the bulb I have will never be used again, so sorry, I won't be testing it in my C5.

At least all you have to do is put a 35w back in...hopefully.
