Halltech stinger vs. Blackwing?
I'm sure this has been posted before but I would like to hear your opinions. I know the stinger has a larger plenum that comes with it and the blackwing utilizes the stock plenum. I purchased the Hallteck stinger on the GP, haven't received it yet, but now I am a little sceptical after seeing some responses on another thread. I am not about to let one bad opinion change my mind I just want the best bang for the buck (I realize that is probably the Z06 air box but wanted something a little more exotic) What do you think? Thanks. Remember I haven't received my stinger yet and have no problem getting something else if it's better.
I also ordered the Stinger on the GP, and am currently waiting for its delivery. I have been researching the various intake systems ever since I bought my '99 back in August. And I came to the conclusion that the Stinger is one of the best performing cold air intakes for the money! I have also seen some negative reviews but you are going to have that with ANY modification that you research here on CF!
As you can see, the HP figures among the non-Z06s are relatively close. (However, check out my torque!)
I believe that the Halltech Stinger has more potential, primarily because of its larger airbridge and smooth TB coupler. You may not need the extra volume of space now, but throw some engine mods into the picture and you'll be glad you won't have to spend an extra $200 for an aftermarket airbridge and coupler. I doubt anyone can say that the Stinger does NOT give you the best bang for the buck, given the power increase results. I gained 13 RWHP with just double Stingers. Most of that came from the Halltech intake.

Awesome, that's what I was looking for. All better now.
Thanks Dave68.
