Default Weatherstrip Lube

I bought a small tube of GM Dielectric Silicone Grease for my weatherstripping. Is there any special way or suggested tips about how it should be applied?
Thanks.

Just use it sparingly or it will leave "it's mark" on your glass, etc.

Use just a tiny dab on the tip of your finger - a little goes a very long way!

The whole tube is probably enough to do every C5 here on the Forum, and still have some left over!

Does Pepboys or Autozone carry Dielectric Silicone Grease? Where can I get one? Thanks.

Got mine at NAPA. I put it on with my fingers and wipe excess with a rag.

If you can get the weatherstrip warm the grease will spread easier.

How often should the weatherstripping be lubed? My car is two yrs. old and stays in the garage except for weekends.

Thanks,

Use as little as possible to coat the weatherstrip, massage it in a bit, let it cure a while, then wipe it down with a clean cloth.

Yes they do...
I take a small dab on my finger, and massage it into the weather stripping. once I finish all the rubber, I go back and wipe it down with a clean cloth, you will never wipe it all off. This will also rub it in some more and remove any excess.

Sometimes, I leave it on overnight. I usually do it once per year ... maybe twice would be better here for the hot Florida sun, but I'm lazy.
