I can't seem to find the 1,000+ threads about the manual versus auto transmission.
I'm finding it very difficicult to find a 6 speed with the options I want. I may consider an automatic now. I wanted to review the tons of posts comparing the two trasmissions. Can anyone direct me to the threads?
Easier to drink coffee
Easier to install a remote starter
You can still shift between gears, but no clutch needed
More autos are sold each year, so more will be available used
However, since my knee operation was a success, my next Vette will be a manual.

Don't compromise on the tranny that you want. Do a wider search area and be willing to travel. Flights have never been cheaper and a local CF member can check one out for you in advance of any traveling. You don't want to spend this much money and say "I should have..."
As an A4 owner, let me just say this, if you have to drive in rush hour traffic every day, you should consider the automatic. If not, go with the 6-speed. That's the long and the short of it.

Keep looking - hold out for the one you want. I speak as a very satisfied automatic owner who believes the manual folks should have what keeps them happy.
Get what ou want! I wanted the manual - held out for it and got a loaded one with the manual tranny. I am ecstatic with it.
I would also agree with the travel idea. I bought my loaded coupe for much less than they wanted locally for the bare bones with huge miles. More than paid for the trip!
Nothing like Shifting a true Sports car!!!
Hold out for what you want...nothing worse than driving around wishing for "what could have been"!
If it was a daily driver, I might want the A4...but, I bought an M6 to be my Mood enhancer.

I wanted to find a vert with a 6 speed and I found 2 (in 2000).
I ended up flying to MI and driving it back to VA.
Don't compromise on your choice whether it be a manual or an auto because you will not be happy if you settle on a second choice. If you perfer the auto or the manual get the one you really want.LT
