Default GM Parts Direct

Have any of you used GM Parts Direct to purchase parts, and if so, what was your experience like with them? I am needing to purchase a Torque Tube Assembly and wanted to know your thoughts. They are cheaper than most places, however I want to make sure they are good to do business with.
Thanks,

Call Fred Beans, Gene is having a sale through the end of january, selling GM parts at dealer cost. However, you must specifically ask for the parts at this price. Do a search and you will find his thread.

Thanks,
I have had about 14 orders with them. On the big stuff there price is always the best even after the shipping hike. Everything to them is pretty much special order so make sure you have your p/n right. I have also noticed that there site does not always have all the P/N s you need. On the smaller stuff I will go to the dealer because for instance you can buy just one oring not a package of 5.

What agreat guy, a forum vendor, he has never let me down, he works with you and you can actually talk to him on the phone, and will go above and beyond most..

With GM parts direct, you can not send anything back.. you better know what you want... Gene makes sure that what you want is the correct part for your car via a vin number..
You cant even talk to anyone at GM Parts direct.
their shipping is high also..

I bought a GM bra and six UPF oil filters from them at a very acceptible price. They were shipped UPS ground and I received them in six days. They are in NJ and I am in Utah.

I've never ordered from GMPD. I've seen many posts on the Forum where people complained about them, especially the cost of the item after shipping is included.

I've ordered probably 100 things from GMPD over the years and never had a problem. They are also always the cheapest.

Having said that, buy from Fred Beans, they are even cheaper for the sale they are currently having. Same price but you won't pay as much shipping.

I ordered my -04Z shocks thru them. Pricy shipping but it got to my door VERY quickly which made the $ worth it.

Default Found them.....................

Bought an Anti-Lock Brake Module for my GMC Sierra - Dealer was over $800.00 and GM Parts Direct was less than half - Shipping was costly, but stll a lot less than Mr. Local Dealer.

I've been using GM Parts Direct. I have yet to have the cost with shipping come out to be more than what my local dealership sells it for.

I haven't ordered from them yet, but just to compare prices I took a copy of their prices for drilled and slotted discs to my local gm dealer. He told me that he couldn't even buy them at the price GM direct was selling them for....!!!!

I bought the Z06 sway bar/end link/bushing kit (Z06stabkit) from GM Parts direct within the past month. Their price shipped was $1.30 higher than the GM dealer cost + reasonable shipping cost for the same item from another vendor. Close enough, and the parts arrived in about 3 days.
