Welcome aboard and congrats on your beautiful new ride! '99 is a good year Mine has been WONDERFUL. I'm sure you'll be VERY happy. Congrats on owning a true piece of American 'culture'.... ya got more than just an awesome car, but all of the wonderful history and the community that goes along with it! Enjoy!
P.S. Don't worry about the AUTO thing... that's fine (mine is). Just keep it in '3' instead of 'D' around town (sub-highway speeds). Helps a bit. hehe
I'll make you a deal. I have a 1998 Torch Red coupe with 55,000 miles on it. I'll trade you even up then you can mod away. My is a 6-speed so that should make up the price difference between the 2. The only mods I've made are a Hurst shifter and a cold air intake.

Kid, ya' GOTSTA' leave that old ricer mindset behind! The days of "air filter and polished muffler" horsepower are no longer applicable!
You have a CORVETTE! (...and its a different world)
Start saving for a nice 7L aluminum block right now. By the time the cash is there, you'll know what other pieces you'll need....
You're in the big-time now, playing with the big boys, runnin' with the big dogs......until you start dropping amounts in the 5-digits, you won't even want to lift the hood around most of these guys.
Seriously.

thank you for that piece of advice, but i was not stating that intake and exhaust would get me into the 11's, i simply said that my GOAL is to have an 11 sec daily driver and i stated that my first mods will most likely be intake *help the car breathe* and exhaust*help the car breathe and sound* I am doing my research on different H/C setups for later on. and here is the wave. Thanks for all the comments. All suggestions and help are appreciated
