Default Another ZO6 Brake Duct question...

What about cutting the wheel well liner on cars prior to 02 that don't have the faint markings, to know where to cut??
Getting ready for this install myself...may be important to know from those that have done this

If your car doesn't have the markings, I'd consider buying the Z06 liners that are already cut. They aren't too expensive. My car had the faint lines, so I was able to cut mine. But the shape is much more complex that I would have thought, so it would be hard to make a template. Good luck with your decision.

I bought brand new ones, they are not that expensive. I tried cutting them and the irregular shape of the liners made them look less than perfect.

2001 have the faint line also.

You can put the duct work in and see where you need to cut

I guess I can trial and hopefully not error this...if I do, then new liners are the ticket! Thanks

Maybe this will help you decide whether to buy the precut ones or not. Here are the lines highlighted by a Sharpie marker. I wouldn't think it would be too difficut to copy them onto an older wheel well just by looking at the pic. Remember, very little of the cut will be seen. i cut mine with a Dremel tool, and even though I thought it was a less-than-perfect job, i was pleased at how it looks (it's tucked completely behind the wheel and tire)...

I had someone install my ductwork and as part of the install, he cut the liners for me. He just knew where to cut. However, later on I broke one of the liners and ended up just buying the one for the Z06 that was precut. It was much easier that way and not expensive.
