Default ACI front chin spoiler ??

I made the decision to go with the ACI front spoiler just a few questions.
1. Is 349.00 plus shipping is the best deal I can get(price from ACI)
2. are some of the simular products other vendors are selling of equal quality
3. Is light pewter a hard color to match

I'll try to help the best that I can but others can chime in too.

1) No...$349 is NOT a good price. Check with ZIP Products. They have it for $259.95 in the Forum Store.

http://www.zip-products.com/Corvette...=false&GiftID=

Be prepared for high shipping though, probably in the $80 range.

2) There are other spoilers similar to the ACI chin spoiler but the ones that I have seen are not made nearly as well and they do not mount as easily. In my opinion, ACI is definitely the way to go.

3) Cant help you on the pewter paint match but I bet that a capable paint shop will take care of you just fine. Millenium Yellow and Anniversary Red are the hard ones, the rest should be fairly simple. Plus, the spoiler sits so low and mainly in the shade that the paint match really doesnt have to be perfect, just close.

I have an '02 Pewter coupe with the ACI front spoiler, which I love.
Just be VERY careful on dips, curbs, speed bumps, etc. Trust me, I found out the hard way! Also, you won't be able to let anyone else drive your car, just too much risk.

As to color, in '02 there were eight different paint codes for Light Pewter Metallic, according to my paint guy. However, with your VIN number, you should be able to get a good match.

Good luck.

I've always liked those as well. Maybe we could get a GP going on 'em? I'd be interested.

EDIT *** Also, I have frame savers already installed. Will this affect the spolier or vice versa? TIA.

The frame saver will neither hurt nor help the spoiler. The spoiler sticks out in the front, so the frame savers won't help as far as the spoiler is concerned, except in rare situations.

1. I would think you might be able to beat that price, not sure on that.
2. I think the ACI is the best chin spoiler out there and I DID look into them all before I bought an ACI last year. The ACI fits great, looks great and has terrific, above average mounting hardware.
3. Pewter paint is NOT a problem to match for a good reputable paint shop.

mhfontaine or tblaire,

Do have any larger full shot pics of your car from front quarter and side? Been thinking about doing this to my '01 pwtr coupe and just trying to see what it will look like.

Thanks!

Did you not see my post above??? It was 2 posts below your original post.

If you somehow missed it, look again. You can get the chin spoiler from ZIP for $259.95........you WONT find any better than that.

Since you are fairly new, you may have missed them but there have been numerous attempts to organize GP's on these but they always fall through. Most suppliers require 20 units before they will cut you a break. Usually you get half that amount of people interested and then the deal just dies.

Trust me, if you want it, just pay the $259.95 and get it over worth. (unless you WANT to go through 6 weeks of legwork here on the forum in order to save about ten dollars)

Its going to be one of my "finally paid for" mods. My body guy says that the two ACI spoilers he installed went on with little or no adjustments. Quality was top notch, and that was very important on my Pewter Vert.

It IS made by ACI.
1) I ordered one from them and it was drop shipped to me directly from ACI.
2) Look at the picture in their ad, it says ACI right on the cars license plate.

Where is the $440 coming from? $259 for the spoiler, $20 crate fee.......does that mean that you were quoted $161 shipping??? I've heard high quotes before, but not that high, that doesnt sound quite right. When I got mine, shipping was only $30, but then again, I also live in Ohio.
