Default Winter Storage - jack stands

Since I live in Illinois and just purchased a new Vette and it still has under 100 miles on it I choose not to drive it in the rain or snow My question is can the tires go bad if it's parked in the garage all winter without being driven? Should I put it on jack stands for the winter? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.

Put about 35 psi cold in the tires and leave on the wheels in the garage. If you put it on jack stands, you will see the car flex. I wouldn't want to leave it like that for the winter. Your biggest problem, if you are anywhere near a field or the woods, will be mice getting into the car. If you are in a damp area like I am, you might also want to consider a Carbag and a car cover.

I'm in Indiana and for the last two winters I've just left the wheels on. One winter I put extra air in and the other I didn't. I didn't notice anything different either spring.

I just leave mine sitting on the tires for the winter. I do put a piece of old carpet under each tire (keeps it off the cold concrete and I think minimizes the loss of air), and just leave the tires inflated to 30 psi cold. Never had a problem with this.

I store my '67 GTO and '04 vert for the winter parked in the garage on concrete. Put some carpet under the tires if you can, change the oil, STABIL in the tank, tend to the battery and cover 'em up. I haven't had to worry to much about mice but I always get a little nervouse when the wife pulls her Expedition in/out of the garage.

I have it in the garage on pieces of carpet and a battery tender hooked up to it. There is a cover on it for protection against dust and the other car and truck that surround it. I never thought about the fuel stableizer, I'll run out and pick that up today. It still has the original tank of gas from the dealer in it. Thank you all for your suggestions!

After you put the Stabil in it you'll need to run it for a while so it can get mixed into both tanks.

That's why I bought a second home in Arizona :o) however I'm not ready to leave it down there when I'm only there for 45 days out of the year..... I'd rather use it here in Illinois where I get more then 45 days use out of it and not have to put miles on it driving it back and fourth to Arizona. Looking forward to retiring in 14 years to AZ when I can use it all the time :o)

The concrete and the carpet under the tires are at the same temp - should not make any change in the amount of air loss.

I blame my parents for not having the compassion to settle in warmer climate and raise me there. Oh yeah, it was also kinda selfish of them not to start their own wildly succesful company that i could skate on into instead of having to get a job on my own.

Yeah, that's it...it couldn't have anything to do with me, I'm blameless

Because I'm an idiot. If the wife ever tells me to take a hike it will be a long one to a warmer place.
